Cameron Highlands Revisited: A Rainy Trip!

Day 3 : Fresh greens & Some Tea !

Today was our last day here, and it started with yet another storm. The weather in Cameron Highlands was freezing, way too cold for me! I was shivering, especially in the early hours. We decided to check out early since there wasn’t much left to do. The bathroom wasn’t clean enough to feature in my video, so I postponed making content for the travel shower gels until another time.

While on the veranda, we noticed that some tall trees behind the villa had fallen during the night’s storm. The veranda, although spacious, was wet from the rain. I squeezed in a few more hijab tutorials before we finally checked out. Despite rushing, we still only managed to check out at 10:30 a.m., and by then, the traffic had already started. Since our plan to visit Boh Plantation at Habu was ruined by a fallen tree blocking the route, we decided to try the Boh Plantation at Sungai Palas instead.

What should have been a 30 minute drive turned into more than an hour due to holiday traffic, just the price you pay for visiting during the busy season! We made a quick stop at the market near the junction, which is a must visit spot. It’s simply called “Pasar,” though I’m not sure if it has a formal name. You can find fresh greens at relatively low prices here.

Would love to bring all of you home, but hubby is already calling our home ‘JUMANJI’

The effort to reach the plantation was totally worth it! As we drove uphill, the view was breathtaking, acres of tea plants spread across rolling green hills. We drove slowly, partly to enjoy the view and partly because the narrow road kept us cautious (we definitely didn’t want to end up in the news, ha!). This wasn’t our first visit, but we never get tired of that scenic view.

When we arrived, we opted to park at the bay and walk up the stairs to the café. As expected, it was packed with visitors. Boh has extended the seating area by adding another wing, making it more spacious. The famous veranda is now a designated photo spot, with no tables. The boys weren’t interested in café treats, so we headed to the shop to pick up some tea to take home. I grabbed Boh’s 75th anniversary music box and some of their Songket tea range. I love fruity flavored tea!

You could drive up to the top, but walking along the pathway is more fun.

A visit to the plantation wouldn’t be complete without the factory tour, but unfortunately, recording is no longer allowed inside. Boh still uses traditional methods and machinery for processing and grading their tea leaves, which is why their tea quality has remained consistent for years.

Tea, everyone?
How Boh came to be

Boh Plantation in Sungai Palas was our last stop before heading home.

If you’re visiting Cameron Highlands during the rainy season, there are still plenty of activities to enjoy! You can visit the bee farms, and I recommend the Ee Feng Gu Apiary because it’s close to Copthorne Hotel, Kea Farm, and Pasar, so you can cover multiple spots in one trip.

Strawberry picking is another must do. Healthy Strawberry Farm is ideal because it uses crop rotation, giving you a better chance of finding big, ripe strawberries to take home.

I’ll definitely be back when the weather improves to hike the Mossy Forest, which is at the top of my list. I’ll share more activities and spots in better weather when I return to Cameron Highlands!

Bye Cameron Highland, we will surely come again!
