I wasn’t always this smooth with strangers, unless we have met each other a few times, and I feel comfortable with you.

If you think I’ve always been a social butterfly, think again. Sure, I was on the debate team in highschool – but that’s just talking with cheat sheets in hand. Impromptu chat? No thank you .
Back then, I was the girl sitting in the corner, nodding and smiling while others were having the time of their lives chatting away. Public speaking? Sure, if the audience was smaller than my lunch group.
So, how did this corner-dweller become the person who can now chat up anyone, anywhere, anytime – like a professional chatterbox?
It wasn’t natural talent.

When I graduated, I envisioned myself as a polished office worker, dressed sharp, holding important documents, just like in the movies. Becoming a unit trust or takaful agent? Not on my radar – unless you count dreams where someone else is doing the talking. But life, as they say, had other plans.
After two years of office work, I swapped my “9 to 5” for sales and marketing. This included mastering the art of small talk. Oh, the irony! I went from fearing random conversations to being trained for them.

The training was slyly named something else, but it boiled down to teaching us how to strike up conversations using the – who, what, where, when, and why – the journalism five Ws.
We were given exercises, like pairing up and discussing random topics for 10 whole minutes. Yes, 10 whole minutes. Awkward at first? Absolutely. Effective? Surprisingly so.
Over time, “What do I say?” turned into “What can I ask next?”. Small talk became a skill, not just a survival tactic.
But don’t get me wrong – I still prefer spotting a familiar face in a room. The difference now? I can handle talking to strangers when I need to. My younger self would be shocked.
That’s why, if you ever decide to join a sales force, make it a point to attend every training session available – especially during your first six months. These sessions are great for learning new skills and doing things you never thought you could. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish when you commit to learning and growing!

Satu lagi kisah cancer patient… client saya sendiri.

A story from one of my own clients — a cancer warrior.
I’m sharing this to highlight my personal experience in handling a declinedGuarantee Letter (GL) for a client who was undergoing cancer treatment.
Sunday well spent with the chaos crew!

Small, intimate gathering konon… but volume macam kenduri satu taman. Banyak gelak, and the jokes were so nonsensical I swear the rumah almost lost its bumbung. Imagine a condo losing its roof. Kalau jiran pasang CCTV, mesti ingat ni tengah shooting comedy.
