Before we start, there’s something you need to know.
FREE Awakening Heroes and Special Weapons will only become available after the 2-month Era of Revival event ends.
Does that mean Era of Revival only lasts for 2 months?
Nope! 😂
Era of Revival is a totally new era that all players enter once the first Era of Revival event begins. The initial 2-month event is simply divided into different weekly themes, with new features and content being introduced along the way.
And you’ll also need lots—I mean, A LOT—of Awaken Shards and Special Weapon Shards for these heroes.
But fret not! You can collect Omni Shards for both heroes and their weapons during the 2-month Era of Revival event.

Now, let’s talk about Marlena.
Awakening Marlena
You need 50 Marlena Awakening Shards to awaken Marlena for the first time.
So, I’m taking back my advice about getting the cheaper pack for 10 Marlena Awaken Shards from my previous Era of Revival post. 😅
If having Marlena Awakened early is important to you, I recommend getting the Marlena Awaken Pass during the first week of Era of Revival.
Once awakened, you’ll unlock her first skill:
⚔️ Battle Skill: Skybreaker Slash
You can then use Marlena Awakening Shards or Omni Awakening Shards to enhance her skill.
The shard requirements are:
Once you reach Level 10, you’ll unlock her second skill:
🌺 Battle Skill: Crimson Bloom
I’ll update this once I’ve managed to push Marlena beyond Level 10. 😂

It’s Thursday today, which means it’s Hero Day for Alliance Duel! My favourite day. Time to upgrade Awakened Marlena so I can rack up those Alliance Duel points! So let’s continue…
I only have enough Marlena Awaken Shards and Omni Awaken Shards to upgrade Awakened Marlena to Level 13. And even that isn’t enough to unlock her 3rd Awaken Skill. 😭
But you can see the growth in her might. I wish I could get data for the other 2 heroes because obviously I won’t be able to awaken Cynthia and Annie anytime soon.
I’ll update this once I have enough shards LOL.
The same amount of shards will likely be needed for other heroes as well.
So now that we know what Awakening does, let’s move on to the important question:
How Can You Get Awakening Hero Shards For Free?
There are a few ways to get them, but let’s start with:
Recluse Merchant & Path of Recluse
Recluse Merchant
This event will start sometime after the initial 2-month Era of Revival event ends.
Recluse Merchant is where you go shopping for your Specific Hero’s Awakening Shards.
With every refresh, you’ll get these items to purchase using Recluse Coin:
- 1 Free item
- 2 Great Value items
- 3 Normal items
You’ll also get:
- 2 free refreshes
- 6 Diamond refreshes
Recluse Coins
There are 2 ways to get Recluse Coins:
- Purchase the Recluse Coins Pack
- Complete tasks in Path of Recluse

I snitched.
I told the overlords that Jardin/FAFO had been removing survivors from buildings to intentionally lower alliance Might during KVK for better city rotation, and told them to keep an eye out in case the same strategy magically appears in your shiny new alliance.
Oh, don’t worry. The overlords know that I made the tutorial videos on how to remove the survivors too. 😏

Jardin may be gone from the game, but apparently the garden still has receipts.
To the new R5, it’s totally ok, please keep the alliance. I wanted the R5 back at the time to assemble new leadership team and then pass the alliance over to the new team. Here are the proofs with time stamp.
Now that’s done and out in the open, let’s continue with Recluse Merchant and Path of Recluse.
I’m currently on Week 2 of the Recluse Merchant event. Basically, the Path of Recluse tasks are quite similar so far.
The difference will be which concurrent events coincide with the Recluse Merchant event, for example, Thief Hunt, Pandemic Experience, etc.
